The PTA is always happy to show thanks to our teachers and staff for all that they do for our kids. These adults spend many hours, five days a week, supporting and teaching our children. We are grateful for the opportunity to say, “Thank you!” on behalf of our parents and students.
Teacher Appreciation Luncheon | May 13, 2016
This year’s Teacher Appreciation Luncheon was a unique one. Our chair, Laura Metzler, and committee members, Kristen Stapinski and Anne Wambold, arranged a Candyland-themed luncheon with delicious food from Cafe L’Amore in Oakland, NJ and raffle prizes for the teachers! Special thanks to our parent volunteers who made this afternoon a very special one for our teachers.
Our big winners of the day were:
Ms. Graziano won the clutch bag (“Clutch You Later”)
Ms. Borgess won the beach bag and towel (“Summer Fun”)
Mrs. Lineburg won the “Have Jewels, Will Travel”
Mrs. Carey won the lottery tickets (“Take A Chance”)
Mrs. Higgins won the Buddha backpack (“Backpack in Style”)
Nurses’ Day | May 6, 2016
Lice checks, Band-Aids, ice packs, stomach bugs – oh my! Our fantastic school nurse, Noreen Carey, is a constant source of comfort to our kids and to parents. She knows every one of the kids at Woodside, and helps them through all sorts of ailments all year long.
To thank her for her for the amazing role she plays at our school, the PTA gave Nurse Carey one of our new “blinged out” Woodside shirts. We hope she enjoys it and remembers how much we all appreciate her every time she wears it!
Superheroes’ Day (Support Staff Appreciation) | April 28, 2016
There are many people at Woodside who help our building run smoothly everyday and who support our children during the many hours they spend at school – the crossing guards, bus drivers, custodians, lunch aids, and others. Superheroes’ Day is their day to be recognized.
To thank them for all that they do, the PTA provided lunch and breakfast to our support staff, along with some special treats! Special thanks to: Blanka Klenk and Nathalie Touma for coordinating the effort to recognize these special individuals; Amy Grossman for making the invitations; and Mrs. Magnusen for overseeing the students’ efforts to make cards for our bus drivers.
Administrative Professionals Day | April 27, 2016
Mrs. Liz Barbagallo and Mrs. Debbie Lineburg are, without a doubt, the glue that holds Woodside together. It is with tremendous gratitude and deep appreciation that we honored them on Administrative Professionals’ Day. Mrs. Lineburg has called Woodside home for 26 years Mrs. Barbagallo for almost 11 years!!!
To thank them for all that they do, which includes putting up with parents and our many daily requests, the PTA gave each of them a gift certificate for something they would enjoy. Special thanks to Brynn Khalaf for coordinating the effort to recognize the special women in Woodside’s main office.
